Wagga Wagga Spring Jam 2023

We recently attended Spring Jam 2023 held at the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens and had a wonderful time.  Grace and Rosalie started off our visit by drumming with the Junkyard Beats and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!  Then we did a round of the obstacle course, Sam raced around by himself while Gracie and Rosie teamed up together to complete it.  Lorelei preferred to try some sections and skipped others as she went around the course with me. The support workers for this activity were so friendly and encouraging, adding greatly to the children's confidence and enjoyment.

After a quick photo and chat with the Larger-Than-Life florals we were off for the children to try the Circus Workshop where they had varying degrees of luck spinning plates on sticks!  The Games Garden was our next point of call with Lorelei in particular loving the giant chalk board. It was also here that we encountered one of the roving keepers with a baby kangaroo, with Grace, Sam and Rosalie all giving it a pat and asking the keeper questions. We followed this up with a snack break with delicious Dippin’ dots ice cream before we finished up the day with a Zoo visit.

The Zoo is always a favourite place for us to visit!  After checking out the dingoes, kangaroos and being entertained by the ducks antics in the pond the children dashed off to see their favourite emu’s.  Shaun the Emu, inspired by a Bluey episode, has been thing for a very long time with Sam’s Shaun also having a partner called Chocolate.  Shaun and Chocolate like visiting the Zoo’s emu’s!  We walked around (apart from Lorelei who had blisters from her shoes and needed to be carried, meaning Oma got quite a workout!) the rest of the animals including the new camels, finishing with the rabbits that are Rosie’s favourite animal.  It was a great day out and we are looking forward to going again next year!

Visiting the Emu’s earlier in the year.  Shaun’s out!
